Gay Friendly High School for Chicago

Officials have proposed a "gay-friendly" high school that will weave gay and lesbian "heroes" into its curriculum in Chicago, reports the Associated Press. According to CNN, the School for Social Justice Pride Campus, which officials say will not be exclusive to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students, is aimed at being safe and welcoming for any student looking for another school option.
The network cites Josh Edelman, executive officer in the Chicago Public Schools' Office of New Schools. "It is not going to be a 'gay high school,' but yes, in a way, it is meant to target kids who feel they have been victims of bullying for their sexual orientation or perceived orientation," Edelman said
The proposals were supported by most of the 50 Chicago residents who attended a public meeting on the city's education, reports the UK Daily Telegraph. They will be voted on by the Chicago board of education on October 22.
If approved, the Pride Campus would be unlikely to open until 2010 and would teach 600 students.

I don't know which category to post this in. We don't have a 'News Of The Weird' here.
The schools have been promoting homosexuality for years. My kids' teachers were pushing this "Gay is just another lifestyle choice" in the early 1990's. My tax dollars at work... Thank God they couldn't say a prayer in school

.
I live in the Philippines now. There are more cross-dressing "Girl-boys" (aka lady-boys) and "Boy-girls" (aka T-birds) here than I can count. Filipino men walk the streets dressed like women, and most of them look like men wearing women's clothes.
The Filinos have four names for gender - boy, girl, boy-girl and girl-boy. I think this contributes to the "gender confusion" here. I've heard Thailand takes this lady-boy thing to a whole new level.
America's teachers should stick to the subjects they are paid to teach...
