Default Do you use your laptop on travel?

I know about a lot of people who have a laptop, but don't take it with them when travelling.

Do you take yours with you when you go travelling?

Myself, I do. Not only for keeping myself up-to-date about my mails and so, but I also use it for programming stuff, when I'm bored on my travel lol
How about you?

I dont like laptops too much, becasue all is small.
another thing: you have to spend alot of money if you want to buy a real powerfull laptop.

It's a fact that it's not cheap, indeed
But that's also why I opened this topic: there are people buying a laptop, but not taking it with them on vacation or so. That's just ridiculous ... buying a laptop then
If you don't use the mobile functions of a laptop, you can better opt for a normal PC. Much better!

I personally use mine on travel because of the kind of work I do.

Unfortunately, My laptop sucks. The wireless usually never works, the computer itself is slow.. But sometimes, I do use it for work.

I payed a good amount for my Laptop, but still have problems detecting wireless networks. A lot of companies will save money by putting in the cheapest components possible. I am tempted to replace the card, but I am nervous about openning up the laptop and damaging something.

If it were a PC, I would have replaced it, but a $3000 laptop is another story.

Well, my dad has a laptop too with quite a lot problems on detecting wireless networks. Actually, the laptop always says you're connected to a WiFi, while it isn't ... lol

To the other posters in this thread with WiFi problems: if you're using Windows XP - check this:
go to start -> run; type "services.msc" and check if the "Wireless Zero Configuration" service is STARTED. If not, start it, and try again ...

I'm thinking of getting one so Im not stuck in front of my desktop at home 8 hours a day. (I work out of my home). I want to be able to sit downstairs or outside and enjoy the nice weather. When he got out DSL we paid extra so we can use the wireless network.

Rarely. Whenever i go outstation it is mostly as a vacation. And I hate to lug my laptop around. Neither do I take my GPRS enabled phone. I change setting in all my emails so that there is an auto reply
