Default Immigration Status in America

Many peoples from other countries are willing to settle in america or migrate from their place to america. They cannot simply move from one place to the another. Either you shoul have relatives(parents, children, spouse etc), or to be a student, to do a job, to start a company, to invest money you should have proper reason that is much more strong. They cannot simply say simple reasons.

The peoples will be allowed temporarily visa or permenantly on the basis of the reason for immigration. They have certain visa, humanitarian and parol types. If you need to immigrate to America you need to fullfill all these types and then only the immigration will be possible. What do you think of this topic?

I don't have a problem with it as of now, just as long as they pay their taxes.

Illegal immigrants bankrupting host countries...

Economic Development Organization Says Migration Stressing Developed Nations
February 18, 2008 - A new report on how migration is affecting developed and developing nations will be released at a press conference in Paris, France on Wednesday.
Quote:
Migration to developed nations by people fleeing their own countries for various reasons has accelerated to the point that integrating immigrants and their children into the their new countries is becoming more difficult. To cope with those problems some nations are adopting policies to only allow highly skilled workers sparking fears of a brain drain in developing nations, according to a statement by the 30-nation member Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development on Monday.

The organization said it will release its report on trends in migration and integration titled "A Profile of Immigrant Populations in the 21st Century," which answers a numerous questions. Among the questions answered in the report are:

* What kind of immigrants are being attracted to OECD countries?
* Where do they come from?
* How well are they integrating?
* Are there serious "brain drain" losses for the sending countries?

OECD member nations include: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom and the United States.

I don't see that much of a problem in it. For my part they do job positions that would otherwise go unfilled by the residents of said countries. That immigrants might do the same thing for less money, in an economic sense, usually reduces the overall prices of goods, so it kind of works out.

But I'm no scientist, so don't take me at my word.

It has always been America's policy to accept immigrants for various jobs, requirements that are needed that cannot be filled here in the US. The problem comes when immigrants are illegal and work for much lower than a US worker, thus that worker loses his job or does not get the jobs. No one would fault foreign workers if the pay rate was the same and they paid their taxes with no problem.

I am also in favor of immigrants as long as they follow the laws of the land and of course pay their taxes as citizens.

The only way people from third world countries like Mexico should be allowed in is if they join the Army for 6 years. Learn English fluently and earn a US level GED. Other than that, there should be a huge wall along the border with armed guards with orders to shoot to kill.

I'm no scientist either, however I do have a practicle solution to this problem. I can think of 1,000,000+ residence living in America that could do these jobs for less then an illegal and could potential leed to a lower cost of goods. They are called prisoners! All those able bodies soaking up TV, working out, playing cards and chess. Enjoying 3 squares a day sucking up energy in thier climate controlled enviorments. Let them...wait strike that... MAKE them go pick the fruits and vegetables.
I know what your thinking...what about the jobs like contruction and landscaping that would be non-cost efficient to have guards supervising prisoners. Well those jobs go to any able body welfare reciepiant. Seems like a win, win to me.

Judge rules: Learn English or go to jail...

Judge sentences Hispanic men to learn English
Thurs., March. 27, 2008 - The three will have to pass test in a year — or serve two years if they fail[/i]
Quote:
A judge known for creative sentencing has ordered three Spanish-speaking men to learn English or go to jail. The men, who faced prison for criminal conspiracy to commit robbery, can remain on parole if they learn to read and write English, earn their GEDs and get full-time jobs, Luzerne County Judge Peter Paul Olszewski Jr. said.

The men, Luis Reyes, Ricardo Dominguez and Rafael Guzman-Mateo, plus a fourth defendant, Kelvin Reyes-Rosario, all needed translators when they pleaded guilty Tuesday. "Do you think we are going to supply you with a translator all of your life?" the judge asked them. The four, ranging in age from 17 to 22, were in a group that police said accosted two men on a street in May. The two said they were asked if they had marijuana, told to empty their pockets, struck on the head, threatened with a gun and told to stay off the block.

Attorneys for the men said they were studying the legality of the ruling and had not decided whether to appeal. One of the attorneys, Ferris Webby, suggested that the ruling was good for his client, Guzman-Mateo. "My client is happy," Webby said. "I think it's going to help him."

I'm American and I LIVE in Japan. I don't live in a big city. There really was no option for me not to learn Japanese. In Tokyo or in the city of Osaka maybe you would be OK never learning Japanese but where I am no one caters to it. No signs at the post office, bank, or supermarkets in english. No drivers test, official forms , advertisment or radio stations in english. Hell even my doctor doesn't speak english. America needs to just take away the option. They'll learn.

Shit man learning Japanese was hard. I did it because I had to. When I have to go to the doctors or even out to buy ink for my printer I STUDIED all the words and phrases that may come up in that situation. Mexicans, Cubans, Hatitians, Koreans, Chinese, it doesn't matter learn the language of your new country. If you don't want to try to learn, enjoy your VISIT and get out.

I live in Japan on a LEGAL VISA I Pay taxes and follow the laws. Why can't all the U.S invaders do the same.

I agree with you on most of your content, however, I don't see the government spending the money for a "huge wall". They are developing new technologies that can monitor movement and heat sensors to identify people trying to cross the border. This is just a start, but one that can realistically be done. I don't think that if you arrived in the US illegally and have a baby that you then have the "right" to stay, live off the US government, not pay taxes, etc. Illegal immigrants are part of our decline in the ecomomy. When "Big Business" can pay an illegal immigrant far less than an American and in the process increase their profits they will lobby against any bills/laws that would restrict access or increase punishment for the illegals. I live in a state that has a huge influx of Mexican workers, most of which don't speak English, are here illegally, and send most of their wages back to Mexico (wages they aren't paying taxes on). I am expected to understand Spanish to interact with these people in society. In addition, it is a requirement in the elementary schools that all children learn Spanish! Shouldn't it be that "they" learn the native tongue: English? It may take drastic measures such as your idea to "save" America.

Because it would kill "Big Business".

I have always believed in the "Chain Gang" theory. Having worked in a penitentiary among convicted felons and watching them socialize, play video games and be catered to made me sick. We pay our correctional workers beans to keep us safe while they allow the convicted to basically live a life of leisure. I agree with you on the distribution of jobs between convicts and welfare recipients, we have to keep public safety in mind. And the excuse of "no daycare" is B***. Some of those same welfare recipients could work at daycares set up to provide care while the others worked. The government has wasted too much money by allowing these problems to continue and just "throwing" money at the programs rather than reform the programs so they run efficiently and are cost-effective. Again, I repeat - it is time for America to get a backbone and "clean house" in Washington.
