AP - Gov. Mitt Romney's beliefs on gay issues are under scrutiny after the re-emergence of a letter he wrote during his 1994 run for U.S. Senate in which he promised a gay Republicans group he would be a stronger advocate for gays than Sen. Edward Kennedy.

Of course his record is under scutiny. He's a Republican running for president of the United States. Conservatives must make sure he doesn't actually like gay people. That wouldn't be acceptable to them.

Only problem for Romney is that he doesn't seem to be homophobic. Or, at least, he wasn't while he was running for governor. But I'm sure that will change now that he needs religious people to vote for him.
